The 8 UN/EU Youth Representatives travel throughout the country together with their working group to hear from young people what they consider important. They take this input with them to conferences and summits at home and abroad: they form the bridge between young people and (inter)national politics. With their boundless enthusiasm, they advocate the problems that affect young people.

Human rights are important because everything is human rights. They are basic rights that belong to all of us, simply because we are human beings. They protect us against governments, companies, and individuals with bad intentions, while also forcing these same entities to take certain actions for our benefit.
To learn more about our basic human rights, check out the UN’s explanation here.

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Curaçao. I briefly moved to Aruba for 6 years, and then moved back to Curaço until my 19th.
Curaçao (and Aruba) is part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, meaning that I was born a Dutch/European citizen, even though it took me 19 years to actually come to The Netherlands.

In 2018, I was nationally elected as a member of the Youth Parliament of Curaçao, where I had the honor of serving as the spokesman of the Parliament, as well as the Chairman of the Education and Sports Committee. I spent 2 years representing the voices of Curaçao’s young people to the government and parliament. We also developed and executed projects for the benefit of the youth population.
In 2021, I was selected from 880 applicants to become a member of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Youth Advisory Committee. Where I spent a year and a half analyzing the government’s development cooperation policies and advising them from a youth lens.
At the beginning of 2023, I was selected to become a Youth Leader by the Global Partnership for Education. Since then, my team and I have been advocating the Dutch government to turn back their decision to stop funding basic education within their development cooperation.

Apart from representing the voices of young people at the United Nations, I’m also a full financial consultant, currently working at the Ministry of Justice and Safety.
I also have my own public speaking business, where I am hired to be a presenter, host, keynote speaker, or master of ceremonies (MC)
